Mary Rando Hairstyling and Makeup Artistry is more than willing to travel to accommodate any bridal party (fees may apply), so that you don’t need to leave the comfort of your home or wedding venue to ensure the perfect look.

Several Months Prior to the Wedding

Mary Rando Hairstyling and Makeup Artistry knows that, once you say yes, the daunting task of planning begins -- including engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, bridesmaid luncheons, and welcome/rehearsal dinners. Having your hair and makeup styled for these events will ensure gorgeous photo memories to treasure for years to come. Additionally, this will allow you to become more comfortable with your stylist and possibly gain some ideas for what you would like on your big day.

As regards scheduling, the bridal coordinator will insert a “time-block” in the calendar for your bridal party, until you’ve narrowed down which appointments you and your bridal party wish to include.

(A deposit is made to hold the block)

The Month of Your Big Day

Within three to four weeks prior to the wedding, a trial is absolutely MANDATORY. This is an excellent way to see in detail how your wedding hair and makeup will look. It will, furthermore, instill comfort and confidence as your special day rapidly approaches. The best way to communicate the bridal look you want (or do not want) is through pictures. Having the pictures on hand at your trial will help the stylist achieve the perfect look you are aiming for. You should also bring pictures of your dress, any hair clips, pins, or extensions, and your veil (if you wish to wear one). The look that we create at the trial will be beautiful, but not be perfect, thereby allowing us to change to different looks with ease. Trial runs usually last around two hours (one hour for hair and one hour for makeup), with lots of communicating. If time permits, it may even spill over into a third hour.

Within ten to fourteen days prior to the wedding, you should have your hair colored and trimmed. This ensures that your color and cut will be fresh and that, should something need to be fixed, there will be time to do so.

As regards scheduling, this is the time to book your bridal-party appointments. The bridal coordinator will need a list of everyone’s first and last name, along with what services they wish to have done. The bridal coordinator will then be able to offer you a complete itinerary for your bridal party.

The Week Before Your Big Day

Since the week before the wedding is, by far, the most stressful time of all, Mary Rando Hairstyling and Makeup Artistry recommends scheduling a spa day during this period. All facials, body scrubs, massages, and waxes can and should happen during this visit, and all itineraries should be finalized during this week as well.

The Day Before

The day before the wedding is a “prep-day” for the big day at Mary Rando Hairstyling and Makeup Artistry. You will have scheduled any nail appointments and a rehearsal-dinner blowdry for this day. To ensure ease of styling the following day, your hair will be washed, conditioned, and pre-styled (just make sure to avoid getting thrown into bodies of water by the groomsmen -- yes, it has happened to a few of our brides in the past!).

Remove all makeup, apply moisturizer to your face, and perform any eye and lip treatments. Finally, drink lots of water, and gets lots of rest for the big day tomorrow...

Your Big Day

The day has finally arrived, and your countless hours of planning have actually born fruit!

First, ensure that everyone has clean, dried hair as well as moisturized skin (an additional fee will be applied for any necessary washes and blow-dries). Second, ensure that everyone wears a top that is easy to remove without running the risk of displacing hairstyles. Finally, ensure that all members of your party have a picture handy of what they want their hair and makeup to resemble.

Remember to bring all pins, flowers, clips, and your veil (if you plan to wear any of these).

Last, but certainly not least, please do not forget to relax and enjoy your big day -- it’s our job to pamper you while making you look glamorous!
